The Uptown Theater opened its doors in 1928 and was a popular destination for entertainment until 1989. The theater was revitalized in 1994 and today it hosts an array of events, including concerts and plays. It can also be rented out for meetings, conventions or weddings.
Just Off Broadway Theater holds many plays on its stage for various performing groups. It is located in the Penn Valley Park in Kansas City. Productions include dinner theaters, musicals, comedies, dramas and many other genres.
The Starlight Theatre is one of only two outdoor theaters existing in Missouri. Many prominent Broadway musical performances, such as Miss Saigon and Aida, play at this theater, which is located in Kansas City's Swope Park. The idea for a theater under the stars was thought up in the early 1920s, but the ground wasn't broken until 1949. The Starlight Theater was completed in 1951, and has been entertaining audiences ever since.

The Folly Theater opened its doors in 1900 to entertain the people of Kansas City with dancing girls, trapeze artists, comics and other performers. The building survived through the years and in 1981 reopened after an extensive renovation. Today it continues to hold performances including jazz concerts, children's theaters, dances and plays.
