The Starlight Theatre is one of only two outdoor theaters existing in Missouri. Many prominent Broadway musical performances, such as Miss Saigon and Aida, play at this theater, which is located in Kansas City's Swope Park. The idea for a theater under the stars was thought up in the early 1920s, but the ground wasn't broken until 1949. The Starlight Theater was completed in 1951, and has been entertaining audiences ever since.

The Folly Theater opened its doors in 1900 to entertain the people of Kansas City with dancing girls, trapeze artists, comics and other performers.
