The Community Christian Church in Kansas City was designed by the well-known architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The church was constructed in 1942 after much debate about the design. Wright wanted lights to flow from the steeple, but this was not accomplished until 1994. The lights can be seen from 10 mi (16 km) away and are lit Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from dark until midnight. Tours of the church are available from 9am to 4:30pm. Groups larger than five people should call in advance to book a tour.
