The Firefighters Fountain As a memorial to the many fallen firefighters, this fountain was built in 1991 and is one of the biggest in Kansas City. It holds 76,000 gal (34,5500 L) of water in it and has the names of Kansas City firefighters who died over the years written on a granite plaque. J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain The J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain is one of Kansas City's landmark fountains. It is found in the Country Club Plaza and can be identified by the four horse figures standing on it, each of which stands for a famous river of the world. The Vietman Veterans Fountain The Vietnam Veterans Fountain was built in 1986 as a tribute not only to the fallen soldiers, but to those who had served in the war. Written on the walls of this memorial fountain are the names of all the soldiers who died or who went missing during the conflict. It is located close to Westport on the east side of Broadway Street. The Liberty Memorial Built in remembrance of the soldiers who fought in WWI, the Liberty Memorial is found at the museum of the same name. It was opened to the public in November 1926. The memorial includes a 217-foot (66-meter) high tower with four stone figures at the peak to represent courage, honor, patriotism and sacrifice.
