    The Harris-Kearney House

The Harris-Kearney House, built in 1855 by John and Henrietta Harris, once sat east of the town of Westport, which is now part of Kansas City. Henrietta's son-in-law Charles Kearney took over the home after the death of John, and built the back wing for some extra room. The house was moved into the town in 1922 by being split into two pieces. The 1855 section of the house holds a museum and is furnished with much of the original furniture. It is open Monday to Friday from 10:30am to 3pm.
